Premise 75 for treatment of Termites
Why do you recommend PREMISE for treating termites?
PREMISE controls termites, and it has two very unique features that greatly benefit you.
First, when PREMISE is properly applied to the soil around your home it creates a complete non-repellent treated zone rather than a repellent barrier. As a result, termites blindly enter the treated zone and are immediately controlled, which keeps them from further damaging your house. Also, PREMISE has what's called Lateral Soil Movement (LSM), which enables the termiticide to spread in all directions and helps create a thorough treated zone.
The second feature is the low risk of the product. PREMISE is virtually a non-volatile product with low vapor pressure, so there is no detectable airborne vapor.
How effective is PREMISE to treat termites?
Extremely effective. Tests worldwide have shown PREMISE delivers excellent protection of even the most severely termite-infested homes – even at rates up to 20 times lower than some other traditional termiticides. In fact, in more than 100 homes that were treated in Experimental Use Permit trials as early as 1993, there has been only one breakthrough to date. PREMISE also controls all species of economically damaging termites, including the Formosan.
How will PREMISE be applied for termite control?
PREMISE will be applied like any other soil-applied product. PREMISE can also be applied as an aerated foam into hard-to-reach areas such as dirt-filled porches, voids and under slabs.
When will foam be used for treating termites?
In special cases, a foam delivery system featuring PREMISE may be required. Foam can deliver the termiticide to places that can't be reached with a liquid application. Fortunately, PREMISE can be used in a foam delivery system much more efficiently than some products. PREMISE creates a drier foam with higher active ingredient concentrations which can be more effectively positioned.
Will it be safe to enter my house immediately after the termite treatment?
Yes. In fact, if you choose, you can stay in your house during treatment. PREMISE has a very low vapor pressure which means there is virtually no airborne chemical left in the air during and after treatment. Indoor air monitoring studies indicate that even during the greatest possible exposure during proper treatment, air concentration rates with PREMISE are millions of times lower than the established No Observable Effect Level (NOEL).
If we stay in the house during the application, will there be a strong chemical odor?
Not at all. Chemical odors are caused by volatile solvents and active ingredients that have odors. PREMISE contains neither.
Is PREMISE hazardous to me and my family?
No. University studies have concluded that susceptible insects, like termites, have specific receptor sites that make them sensitive to the effects of PREMISE. Humans, animals and certain other insects do not have as many of these receptor sites, so they're less affected by PREMISE.
